Dr. Mary Rorke

Mary and Tucker

Dr. Rorke, the founder of our clinic, began working as a veterinarian in the Peterborough area in 1996 after a year or so in Manhattan, where she practiced in a small animal hospital on the Upper West Side. She is a graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, returning as a mature student through a circuitous route of music schools and various employment. She prefers the medicine side of animal care, especially for cats and dogs, and thoroughly enjoys the clients and patients she meets in our clinic and through our mobile service. She shares her home with her fat cat Mel, a tabby and white DSH she brought home from a local animal shelter (he's hiding on the home page). His favourite things are catnip, food, sleep and yodeling. Recently he's been heard yodeling and moguling in the wee hours with Oliver, a four-year-old tabby. Determined to always be 'alpha' is Tucker, a seven-year-old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd cross. His favourite occupations include the fruitless pursuit of the resident groundhog and endlessly retrieving any thrown object...

Dr. Melloney Erwin

Melloney

Dr Melloney Erwin graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1995 and has been working in Peterborough and the surrounding area for the last 12 years. Melloney prefers to combine complementary modalities with western medicine whenever appropriate and is now practicing traditional Chinese medicine including acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicines and food therapy.

She enjoys hiking with her two dogs, Luna, a Golden Retriever cross and Merlot, the Viszla. She also has two cats, Loki, who was born in BC and made the drive across Canada sleeping in their tent at night, and Groovey, who was abandoned at eight weeks with a ruptured eye. Removing Groovey's eye was the first surgery that Dr Erwin performed after graduating.

 Dr Lindsay Prior

Dr Lindsay Prior graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in the spring of 2008 and moved to the Peterborough area to work as a companion animal/exotics veterinary. Her interests include exotic animal medicine and surgery. Dr Prior's first love is rabbits, some have even dubbed her "the rabbit whisperer". Working at Otonabee Animal Hospital gives her the opportunity to work with all kinds of species, including but not limited to -cats, dogs, rabbits, ferrets, pocket pets and even reptiles  dr p

Dr Prior currently has 3 rabbits-Sophie, Simon and Jack, a Rottweiler named Charlie, a Boston Terrier or "Terror" named Ruby and 3 cats- Molly, Mabel and Stu. Her newest addition, Mabel, was an abused kitten with a heart of gold. She was brought in to see Dr Prior with spinal cord swelling (she was unable to move her hind legs) and a serious uterine infection. Dr Prior adopted her, spayed her and gave her lots of TLC and special care. Now she is running, jumping and playing...she even chases the dogs!
